AMHERST, Mass. – Following a short stint with the Amherst College men’s soccer team, assistant coach Killian Riley has been named head coach of the men’s program at Thiel College.
Riley spent the 2013 season at Thiel as an assistant volunteer coach for both the men’s and women’s soccer teams. He served on head coach Justin Serpone’s coaching staff during the 2014 spring and brought five-plus years of coaching experience with him, before departing.
As a student-athlete at Heidelberg University, he helped lead the team to its first-ever Ohio Athletic Conference regular-season title. Upon graduation, Riley attended Ottawa University where he earned a M.B.A. and served as a graduate assistant coach for the men’s and women’s soccer teams. During his time at Ottawa, he helped guide the women’s program to a NAIA Championship berth in 2011 and assisted the men’s team to a 12-win season the following year.
