Duffy Plays in NEWISA Senior Bowl

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Amherst College senior Sarah Duffy was selected to participate in the 2013 New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl held on the campus of Merrimack College on Saturday, Dec. 7th. The game featured some of the best seniors from all three divisions throughout the region and ended in a 2-2 draw.
Duffy finished her stellar four-year campaign with an impressive senior season donning the Purple & White. The senior forward played all 17 games for the Jeffs, leading the team in assists (5) and finishing in a tie for second on the squad in goals (5). Of those five goals, two of them resulted in game winners. Her 15 points also ranked second among all Jeffs and tied for ninth among NESCAC leaders while her five assists tied for fifth highest in the conference.
The Jeffs earned their third-consecutive NCAA Championship berth and 13th overall. After defeating Springfield 1-0 in the opening round, Amherst fell 2-0 to Messiah as they finished the season with a 10-4-3 overall record.
