Amherst Wraps up Spring Break Trip with 8-1 Win at Claremont

CLAREMONT, CA – The Amherst College women’s tennis team wrapped up its West Coast Spring Break trip with an 8-1 victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps to finish the week at a perfect 5-0 to move to 6-0 overall on the season. The Lord Jeffs return to action Thursday, Mar. 27 when they travel to Wesleyan University to kick off in-conference action.

Second-ranked Amherst swept singles play and dropped just one doubles match to the 25th-ranked team in the nation. The Jeffs’ No. 3 doubles pair of senior captains Jenn Murphy (Simsbury, CT) and Laura Stein (Rockport, ME) was a perfect 5-for-5 this week, while first-year Natasha Brown (Woodland Hills, CA) won all five of her singles matches.
