The 2013-14 season will be Jackie Bagwell's 23rd as head coach of the Amherst women's tennis team. The Kokomo, Indiana native has led the Jeffs to at least the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament in 18 of the last 19 seasons, including the college's first NCAA title in any sport in 1999. The Jeffs have taken home the NESCAC crown in seven of the past nine seasons.

Bagwell’s squads produced back-to-back national singles champions in 1999 and 2000 and have been even more successful in doubles action, taking home the NCAA title in 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013. She earned Boston Area Coach of the Year honors at the annual Boston Sports Awards in September of 2000, going up against Boston Red Sox manager Jimmy Williams and Boston Bruins head coach Pat Burns—among others—for the honor. Bagwell was named the 2007 NESCAC Coach of the Year, and in 2011 she was honored as the ITA's Northeast Coach of the Year.

As an undergrad, Bagwell spent three seasons at Columbus College before transferring to the University of Texas-Permian Basin, where she helped lead the Falcons to an NAIA National Tournament appearance. She graduated from the University of Indiana in 1986 with a degree in history/physical education and worked as a teaching pro at the Jimmy Connors United States Tennis Center in Florida. Prior to moving to Amherst, Bagwell spent two seasons coaching at Hamilton College.
