CENTERVILLE, MA – Amherst College’s Marta Randall ’13 (Monkton, MD) has been named a Division III Women’s Lacrosse New England All-Star, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced today.

Of the 24 student-athletes named a New England All-Star, only seven hail from the NESCAC. Randall is one of only five first-years or sophomores to earn All-Star status, as she joins First Team selection Kelsey Daniels ’14 (Western New England) and Second Team honorees Selina Houghton ’13 (UMass Dartmouth), Seneca Martensson ’14 (Simmons) and Leonhard.

This is the fourth major postseason award Randall, who also landed on the All-NESCAC First Team, IWLCA All-Region First Team and IWLCA All-America Second Team.

As a sophomore Randall helped lead Amherst to a 9-6 mark by recording a team-high 42 points on 38 goals and four assists. She had 11 multi-goal games on the year, notably scoring six times against Middlebury and Tufts. Randall also had five goals against Oneonta State, four against Bowdoin and three at Trinity, as she ranked fifth in the NESCAC in goals per game (2.53) and fourth in game winners (5).

With 62 goals and six assists in her first two seasons, Randall will be expected to once again lead Amherst’s offensive charge in 2012. The Lord Jeffs will open their season by traveling to take on Colby and Bates on Mar. 10 and Mar. 11, respectively.
