SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - For the second time this season, Megan Robertson ’15 has been named the NESCAC women’s basketball Player of the Week after helping the Jeffs to a 3-0 stretch that included a win over previously unbeaten Tufts University.
Scoring nine points with 12 rebounds against Wesleyan, she hit seven of her eight free throw attempts, while adding three blocks and a steal. Pouring in 18 points against Bates, Robertson connected on nine of her 13 shots, while pulling down 12 boards, including seven on the offensive end, which helped lead to 15 second chance points.
Notching her eighth double-double of the season, the sophomore center put together another solid game against Tufts, helping the Jeffs knock the Jumbos from the ranks of the unbeatens. Tying for a team-high with 13 points, she converted 4-of-8 field-goal attempts and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. A force in the middle, she grabbed 10 boards, while recording four blocked shots. With 104 career blocks, she is just the fifth player in program history to accumulate at least 100 blocks.
Averaging 13.3 points and 11.3 rebounds on the week, she shot 56.0 percent (14-for-25) from the floor and 85.7 percent (12-for-14) from the charity stripe. Enjoying a stellar season, Robertson currently leads the NESCAC in field-goal percentage (53.7), rebounds (9.3) and blocks (2.9).
