Jeffs Snap Three-Game Winless Streak with 5-3 Victory at Skidmore

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - The Amherst College men's ice hockey team snapped a three-game winless streak with a 5-3 victory at Skidmore College. The Lord Jeffs improve to 8-5-3 overall and 6-3-2 in conference play, and will return to action Friday, Feb. 1 when they host Tufts University at 7:30 p.m.
Senior forward Gregg Adamo (Manalapan, NJ) and junior defenseman Jeff Landers (Hanover, MA) each recorded three points for Amherst, with Adamo netting a power play goal, game-winning goal and an assist, while Landers picked up a helper on each of the Lord Jeffs' final three goals.
Skidmore was able to cut a two-goal deficit in half on two separate occasions, but the Jeffs were able to maintain a lead throughout the game. The Thoroughbreds were 0-for-3 on power play opportunities, while Amherst converted on two of its four 5-on-4 chances.
First-year Jon Larose (Boyle, Alberta) made 25 saves and improved to 5-1-1 with the win, while Ted Levine made 23 stops for Skidmore.
