Amherst Captain Lindsey Harrington Named NESCAC Player of the Week

AMHERST, MA – The New England Small College Athletic Conference named Amherst College senior tri-captain Lindsey Harrington (Westford, MA) the Women’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week this afternoon. Harrington registered a team-leading five points during a 2-0-0 week for the Lord Jeffs.

Harrington recorded three goals and two assists during wins over Bowdoin and Colby, as Amherst remained undefeated in conference play. On Friday evening, Harrington scored a goal and assisted on the eventual game-winner in a 4-3 decision at Bowdoin. She followed on Saturday afternoon with two goals, scoring one while Amherst was shorthanded, and an assist in a 7-1 win at Colby.

The pair of wins moved Amherst to 10-0-0 in NESCAC play this season, as the Jeffs are 35-0-7 against conference opponents in their last 42 outings. The Jeffs stand in great position to host the pending conference tournament with Middlebury in second place at 6-1-2.

Harrington is currently tied for second on Amherst’s season scoring ranks, with 10 points on five goals and five assists. After 93 career games played, Harrington has 85 points during her time at Amherst.

Amherst sits stop the NESCAC tables at 10-3-0 this season after the impressive pair of wins in Maine. Harrington and the Lord Jeffs return to action on Wednesday evening when they host New England College at 7 p.m.
