The Jeffs displayed a great performance on the day in a field full of Division I, II, and III schools.

Naomi Bates ’14, Karen Blake ’17 and Kiana Herold ’17 all set school records in their respective events. Herold highlighted the day with a team-high seventh place finish in the high jump. Her mark of 1.65 meters is a new program record.

Amherst excelled in the 200 meter dash. Bates broke her previous record during her heat, finishing with a time of 25.59 seconds to finish 36th overall. However, a couple heats later, the first-year Blake edged out Bates with a mark of 25.45 to finish 33rd in the event and claim a new school record.

Bates wasn’t finished though and set a new mark in the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.61 seconds. She finished 43rd in the 112 person field.

In other track events, Hannah Herrera ’17 finished the 800 meter in 2:19.88, good for 45th, and Keelin Moehl ’16 crossed the finish line right after in 2:20.03.

Cat Lowdon ’17 and Savannah Gornisiewicz ’17 led the Jeffs in the 1000 meter and finished 37th and 39th, respectively, with times of 3:12.56 and 3:13.03.
