Amherst Teams Blanked by Trinity, 9-0

Sophomore Tom Rapisarda put up a good fight in the No. 6 match, ultimately falling 9-4, 9-3, 9-7.
HARTFORD, CT – The Amherst College men’s and women’s squash teams each suffered a 9-0 loss to national powerhouse Trinity College at Kellner Center. The Bantams improved to 2-0 on the men’s side and 3-0 on the women’s, while the Lord Jeff squads each moved to 1-1.

Trinity, the 10-time defending national intercollegiate men’s champion, extended the nation’s longest winning streak in any varsity sport to 185 matches and its winning streak at home to 103 matches. All nine Trinity wins came by 3-0 scores. Sophomore Tom Rapisarda (New York, NY) put up the best fight for Amherst on the men's side, totaling 14 points in the No. 6 match.

Both Amherst teams return to action Thursday, Dec. 4 when they host Tufts University at 6 p.m.
