CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 19th-ranked Amherst College women’s squash team improved to 3-1 on the young season Saturday, notching its second 9-0 win of the week with a blanking of Northeastern on the MIT courts in Cambridge. After losing just one set to Smith on Wednesday, the Lord Jeffs were even more untouchable this time, taming the Huskies with nine 3-0 triumphs.

Amherst had the clear upper hand in every contest, with Northeastern’s closest challenge coming in the opening set of first-year Meyha Sud’s 11-8, 11-1, 11-3 win over Carly Evans at the No. 4 position. The only other Jeff to yield more than five points in a set was Anne Piper ’13, who wrapped up her sweep of the third slot with an 11-6 win over Kitty Cheung after taking the opening sets 11-3 and 11-4. Chandler Lusardi ’13 and Arielle Lehman ’15 cruised atop the Amherst lineup, beating Jenn Janeck (11-4, 11-5, 11-5) and Olivia Simone (11-4, 11-4, 11-3) at first and second, respectively.

Amherst’s first-years took care of business in the next four slots, as Ericka Robertson ’16 breezed past Amanda Georgescu a No. 5 (11-2, 11-2, 11-0) and Khushy Aggarwal ’16 dispatched of Hailee Joo at sixth (11-3, 11-2, 11-0). Corri Johnson ’16 and Taryn ’16 remained undefeated on the season, as Johnson turned away Hoiai Tran in the seventh position (11-5, 11-1, 11-3) and Clary swept Sarah Ganley at No. 8 (11-5, 11-3, 11-0). In the final matchup, Mark Katherine McNeill ’13 didn’t drop a point until the final set as she wrapped up Sara Olaya (11-0, 11-0, 11-2).

After breaking for the Holidays, Amherst will be back in action with a pair of home matches on Sunday, Jan. 13. The Jeffs host Connecticut College at 11 a.m. before wrapping up the day against Middlebury in a 3 p.m. match on Davenport Courts.
