Women's Squash Sweeps Northeastern, 9-0

KramerAMHERST, Mass. - The Amherst women's squash team swept Northeastern on Saturday, 9-0 in its 2013-14 season opener.

The Jeffs won decisively with eight 3-0 sweeps. In the No. 1 position, Erika Robertson '16 claimed the first two games against Jenny Janeck '15 by scores of 11-6 each but dropped the third frame, 8-1. The sophomore retaliated and claimed an 11-9 win in the fourth game to take the match.

Meyha Sud '16 and Evelyn Kramer '14 earned sweeps from the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, respectively. In her first collegiate match, Tiana Palmer-Poroner '17 ousted Hailie Joo '16 by scores of 11-3, 11-0, and 11-3.

Taryn Clary '16, Khushy Aggarwal '16, Corri Johnson '16, Lena Rice '14, and Izzy Derber '17 won easily to round out the top-nine positions, defeating their opponents by a combined 165-11.

The Jeffs are back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 6 and will host Yale at 2 p.m.
