SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Amherst men’s swimming and diving team wrapped up its regular season slate with a 164-121 victory over Springfield College.

The Jeffs’ Tyler Bulakul ’14, Tom Zhang ’16, Sam Stewart ’16 and Conor Deveney ’15 got the visitors off to a fast start, winning the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:35.50. Sam Cagenello ’15, Parker Moody ’14 and Alex Pearlman ’13 took the top three spots in the 1000 free before Daniel Schwab ’13 edged out Springfield’s Travis Morse ’13 by six one-hundredths of a second in the 100 back with a time of 54.61.

Alex Kang ’15 took the win in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.01), while Jeff Anderson ’16 and Sebastian Cruz ’16 finished one-two in the 200 fly. Sam Stewart ’16 kept Amherst rolling with the top time in the 50 free (22.13), while Colin White ’14 (349.13) and Asher Litchtig ’16 (339.67) posted the two best scores in the 3-meter dive.

Connor Sholtis ’15 turned in the fastest time in the 100 free (46.27), while Rishi Kowalski ’16, Schwab and Jeff Helt ’13 swept the top three slots in the 200 back. Zhang, Alex Pearlman ’13 and Sam Pritzker ’14 followed suit, taking first through third in the 200-yard breaststroke, while Springfield’s Jason Scotto ’14 won the 500 free with a time of 5:03.18.

The Pride’s Nolan Manley ’13 earned nine points with a time of 55:30 in the 100 fly, while teammates Kenny Pancoast ’13 and John Vatkevich ’14 did the same in the 1-meter dive and 100 IM, respectively.

The Lord Jeffs return to action on Feb. 15-17 at the NESCAC Championships hosted by Bowdoin College.
