Sairam Nagulapalli '15
Sairam Nagulapalli '15, Amherst College Career Center Peer Career Advisor

Hi! My name is Sairam. I am a third culture kid, having spent my childhood in India and my formative teenage years in the United States. I transferred to Amherst in the spring of 2013 from a college in the DC area.

At Amherst, I am studying Political Science and Economics. I’m currently working as a research assistant in the Political Science department and as a Transfer Peer Mentor. This is my second year working as a PCA. Last year, aside from reviewing resumes and cover letters and organizing workshops with the other PCAs, I worked on various special projects to make it easier for international students to find jobs in the United States.

I spent the summer working at Morgan Stanley as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst in the Public Finance Healthcare group.

I look forward to working at the Career Center. Stop by the Career Center if you want help with your job search or if you just want to chat!

Stella Honey Yoon '15E

Stellla Honey Yoon, Peer Career AdvisorsHi everyone,
My name is Stella and I am a second semester senior majoring in English and Economics. I am currently in the process of writing a thesis in the English department in which I write about food and food literature from a interdisciplinary angle. Other than working as a Peer Career Advisor I also sing in various music groups across campus and take photographs for Public Affairs. My previous work experiences include working as a business development intern for a fashion house and at a consulting firm. After graduation, I am continuing full time in consulting and hope to attend graduate school in a few years. I look forward to seeing you at the Career Center!

Julian Roberson '15

Julian Roberson, Peer Career AdvisorsI’m Julian Roberson ’15, an American Studies and Spanish double major from Metropolitan Detroit. During the Fall 2013 semester, I studied abroad in Montevideo, Uruguay. In addition to working at the Career Center, I work in the equipment room and tutor high school students. Throughout college, I have interned in various industries such as automobile, cable, media and technology. However, this past summer, I interned in the retail industry for Target which was a great career transition.

Post-graduation, I plan to pursue a career in the consumer packaged goods, marketing, or retail industry. I look forward to helping you all pursue your career aspirations and becoming move involved on campus. If you need assistance with resumes, cover letters or general career advice, feel free to stop by the Career Center!

Rashaa Fletcher '15

Rashaa Fletcher, Peer Career AdvisorsHello, everyone! My name is Rashaa Fletcher, and I am a senior at Amherst College double majoring in Psychology and Anthropology. On campus, I also work as a Peer Programmer in the Multicultural Resource Center and within my time at Amherst I have participated in Amherst Women’s Rugby, been an Athletic Team Engagement Leader, and a mentor within the Quest Scholars Network.

Since my freshman year, I have actively sought internships dedicated to social justice. Following my semester abroad in Nagoya, Japan, I worked as a research intern at UCLA’s Psychology of Social Justice Lab and have also been engaged in non-profit organizations within the Amherst community, such as Youth Action Coalition of which I was both a summer and academic year intern. Following graduation, I hope to further my studies and pursue a career in clinical/counseling psychology.

I look forward to working with other Amherst College students in gaining work experience that will prove influential and inspire both personal and academic growth. Stop by if you ever need any help with cover letters, resumes, internships, and/or general career advice!

Jessica McMillin '15

Jessica McMillin, Peer Career AdvisorsHi there! My name is Jessica McMillin, and I am a senior Anthropology major and am completing pre-med requirements too. Outside of academics, much of my time here has involved finding ways to be involved with the broader, town of Amherst community. From helping elementary school kids play the violin through the Music Tutors Program, to developing partnerships with local organizations as part of the Public Health Collaborative, I’ve enjoyed the challenges of carving out a meaningful community engagement niche.

To further my experience in working with communities, I have done summer internships with local public health organizations to address disparities such as infant mortality and obesity. I’ve also done research in an organic chemistry lab and have shadowed many health professionals, such as anesthesiologists, acupuncturists, and midwives.

Please feel free to drop by if you’re looking for a conversation about careers or feedback on your resume and cover letters. I would love to help you through any part of your internship/career process!
