Amherst College 2014 Non-Profit & Government Career Fair
Friday, February 28 11:00am-2:00pm
Keefe Campus Center

Want to make a difference and a living? This fair is open to students from all of the Five Colleges and brings opportunities for meaningful work right to your doorstep. Come meet employers offering summer internships, full-time and part-time jobs, and opportunities for service or volunteering.

Stick around until 2:00 p.m. to join us for a panel on Demystifying Work in Non-Profit & Public Service…and enter a drawing to win gift certificates to two local non-profits, Amherst Cinema and Food for Thought Books!

2:00 p.m. Panel: Demystifying Work in Non-Profit & Public Service
Theater, basement of Keefe Campus Center

There are a lot of misconceptions about non-profit and public service work. Join non-profit employers and Amherst College alumni to gain a clearer picture of these unique sectors and get your questions answered:

  • What does “non-profit” mean and what makes it unique from “for-profit” work.
  • What special skills or qualifications do I need to work in non-profit or public service?
  • How do I find opportunities in non-profit and public service?
  • Can I really live on a non-profit salary?
