International Study & Work

Approximately 40% of Amherst students spend a semester or year abroad as part of their Amherst academic career.  Many students, even some that study abroad, also spend as summer, interterm, or even take a semester off to work abroad.  The international experience can bring a perspective to your time at Amherst and will influence your coursework, perhaps even direct a thesis topic.  You will grow personally and academically from your experiences abroad.  The Career Center can work with you to translate your international experiences to your resume and/or graduate school application.

Please visit the Study Abroad website for information on spending a semester or year abroad.  The Study Abroad Office and Library are located in 106 Converse Hall, Amherst College, Amherst, MA 01002. Phone: (413) 542-5691. To make an appointment with Dean Janna Behrens, call x5691.
