Amherst College Dining Services is one of the largest employers on campus. We have a wide variety of jobs in our food servery. Please come and chat with us about the many possibilities today! We can make a schedule to fit your personal & academic demands. To apply for a position in Dining Services, fill out our online application or stop by the office on the lower level of Valentine Hall.
Presently we are one of the most flexible employers on campus, offering several different employment opportunities, including wait staff, bartenders, drivers and dishcrew. Our pay scales for each position are based on prior experience, a continuous number of shift/hours worked during the academic year and a positive attitude. The majority of our catered events take place on campus, which makes this employment opportunity even more desirable for students. Offices are located on the lower level of Valentine Hall.
Monday through Saturday
Breakfast : 7:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.
Continental Breakfast : 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Lunch : 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Dinner : 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Breakfast : 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Brunch : 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Dinner : 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

All workers in the Dining Commons must use a time card and punch in and out; instructions are above the time clock. In Valentine, the time clock is located on the lower level opposite the office. Student time cards are on the right side of the time clock. If you do not have a time card, please see your supervisor or manager.
Please allow enough time to eat before punching in for the beginning of your shift.
Paychecks will be delivered to your post office box on the Friday following the end of a pay period.
All students must obtain and complete an I-9 form prior to working. These are available in the Financial Aid Office, B-5 Converse Hall. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
