The Health Center provides care including assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a variety of acute illnesses including but not limited to viral infections (common cold), influenza, strep throat, mono, sinus/ear infections, bronchitis, acute abdominal pain, GI illness, rashes and tick bites.
We also provide first aid and wound care, sutures and suture removal and sprain/strain care. We can provide bracing, splinting, casting or cane/crutches when needed for acute injuries. If x-rays or other imaging is needed – the student will be sent to UMass or an outside imaging center. Referral to a specialist will be made if indicated.
