Dining Services

The goal of Amherst College Dining Services is to deliver great food one plate at a time, while honoring our commitment to locally produced, sustainable and high quality food.

Our dining locations—from Valentine Hall to our new Science Center café—are bright, cheerful spaces where you can settle in for conversations and delicious food with friends.

Our food is real, too. We use fresh, local ingredients, much of which comes from our Book & Plow Farm, an on-campus farm that has been supplying Valentine dining hall with fresh produce—including carrots, onions, summer squash, kale, mustard greens, tomatoes, bok choi and more—since 2013.

Our Dining Program offers a continuous dining model where students can find a wide vairety of options throughout the day from open to close. Hours may vary during special events.

• Board Plan Locations and hours: 
  • Breakfast (7:30 a.m.-10 a.m.): Valentine Dining Hall
    • Breakfast weekend hours (8:00 a.m. - 10 a.m.)
  • Lunch (11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.) Valentine Dining Hall
  • Dinner (5 p.m.-8:30 p.m.): Valentine Dining Hall 
  • Grab n Go Lunch (11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) Monday-Friday: Keefe Campus Center (Schwemm's)
  • Late Night @ Val (9:30-11:30pm) Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights.

*Significant efforts have been made to create a menu for those who have food allergies.  We have a dedicated space in the dining hall to offer items that are free of the top 9 allergens and many of our meat options will be certified Halal.

Birthday cakes will be available starting September 12th!

• All cakes are 8" round, can serve 12-15 people and cost $20.
• We accept check, AC Dollars and for staff; payroll deduction.
• All orders must be submitted 2 business days in advance from pick up/event date. Pick up times must correspond with dining hours.
• Limit of 4 cakes per day.
