Two meal plans are available from Dining Services:
Full Meal Plan (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Lunch & Dinner Plan (lunch and dinner only)
Note: The Full Meal Plan is required for first year students.
Five College Dining Program
In support of Five College academic opportunities, a dining meal exchange is available for any student enrolled in a meal plan at one of the five colleges. A request for participating in the meal exchange will be granted for academic reasons only. Other meal exchange requests, for which there is a compelling reason, will be reviewed on an individual basis.
To request permission to participate in the meal exchange a student must follow the guidelines provided by the Dining Service office on the home campus where the student has enrolled in a meal plan. With the application the student must provide documentation of enrollment in a course at the other campus where the student is seeking permission to eat under the meal exchange program.

Other Exemption requests
We understand that there are special circumstances that make it very challenging for our students to utilize the Meal Plan at Amherst College. In order for us to understand your situation please complete the Exemption form so that the Meal Plan Committee can evaluate your request.
The committee is made up of member of Students Affairs, Dining Services, Health Services and Religous Life. This group will evaluate your request and make a determination as quickly as possible. The Committee meets regularly however a determination may take up to 2 weeks. If there are extreme circumstances please reach out to Joe Flueckiger (Director of Dining Servcies) or Meghann Jurkowski (Menu Manager and Nutritionist).
If you are granted an exemption, the funds granted will be retroactive from the date of submission. If you are not granted an exemption, we strongly encourgae you to meet with Meghann Jurkowski to explore the scope of of our offerings and to explore any accommodations that may support your nutrition.
