“The Spanish House lets you feel comfortable practicing Spanish with other individuals with varying levels of Spanish, all willing to learn and converse for your personal enrichment. Tertulia also brings in a lot of elements of different Spanish cultures too, which is nice, for you get both language and culture in the house.”

—Luisa Feliz '05 resident, Spanish House 2004-2004

Are you interested in living at the Spanish  Language House (located in Newport House) to practice your Spanish language skills, and to learn more about Hispanic culture?

All theme house applications will go through the Amherst College Housing Portal. Please note that students who accept a placement in a theme house will be removed from General Housing Selection. Theme Community Selection will take place after General Housing Selection is complete. Acceptance to a theme house does not guarantee assignment to a single room.

Students interested in learning more about Spanish House are encouraged to attend the Open House event to meet residents, view the house, and ask questions.
