Veteran Community BBQ

Fall semester (annual)

Hosted by the Class & Access Resource Center every fall semester, the Veteran Community BBQ brings together Amherst College students, staff and faculty who have military experience for a community meal. All military-connected community members and friends are welcome!

V.E.T.S Mentor Program

Beginning in Fall 2022, all first semester veteran students will be connected with a staff or faculty mentor as part of our new veteran mentoring initiative, the Veteran Education, Transition, and Support (V.E.T.S.) Mentor Program. Mentors are Amherst College staff or faculty members who have extensive military experience and who serve as a supportive person during the transition to Amherst.

Students meet with their mentors once a month throughout the first semester. Beyond the first semester, students may opt in to continue the mentoring relationship.
