As a new international student or exchange visitor, you are required to complete an immigration check-in with the CISE as soon as possible after your arrival on campus.
This check-in is legally required in order for the college to confirm that you have reported to school. During this brief meeting, Center for International Student Engagement (CISE) staff will review and make copies of the following immigration documents, so be sure to bring them with you.
- Your passport bio page
- Your F-1* or J-1 visa
- Please note that if you are a Canadian citizen in F-1 status, you will not have a visa stamp in your passport.
- Your I-20 or DS-2019
- Your I-901 fee receipt
- Your I-94 record
- Your entry stamp
Once you have completed this required check-in process and have fully registered for your courses, the CISE will update your registration status and “activate” your SEVIS record.
