The African and Caribbean Student Union is a cultural affinity group with goals to unify, represent, and educate members of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. We have weekly meetings where we discuss topics ranging from the fetishization of African and Caribbean bodies to wild debates about which country makes the best jollof, plantain, etc. We also offer ACSU study seminars a few times a semester, where all members of the community have an evening session to catch up on work in a culturally-rich environment. Each semester, ACSU hosts a main event: Expo-Losion in the fall and Wave Your Flag in the spring. The events differ but both host beautiful dancing from our very own ACSU Dance, cultural f \ood, and the best DJ’ing you’ll find on campus. If ACSU sounds interesting, come to our meetings on Wednesdays at 8 PM in the Multicultural Resource Center. You can also reach out to Safi, our senior chair (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Andrea, our social media coordinator (email@example.com). If you’re interested in joining ACSU Dance, you can reach out to Yaqui, our ACSUDC representative (firstname.lastname@example.org or at email@example.com).
