The Multicultural Resource Center recognizes that people of color are disproportionately affected by issues of health and environment. Many communities of color experience direct oppression in the form of environmental racism, from damage to indigenous land by the Dakota Access Pipeline to lead poisoning in Flint, Michigan. Therefore, the MRC believes that pursuing environmental justice is central to our goal of racial justice.
The MRC Is Going Green!
We have replaced disposable coffee cups with ceramic mugs. All visitors to the MRC may use these mugs, but we ask that you wash and return the mugs immediately after use. You may also bring your own mug to utilize in the MRC.
We have replaced our Keurig with a coffee maker to prevent waste in the form of K-Cups.
We ask all visitors to place compostable materials in the compost bin. This includes compostable water cups available by the water fountain at Schwemm’s.
We encourage all students to print double-sided when utilizing the MRC printer.
