Our purpose is to support all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and straight ally persons, and to help in the elimination, through education, of homophobia and heterosexism on the HCC campus by bringing together the LGBT and straight communities.

Provides a safe space and community center for lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning and allied students at Mount Holyoke. Located at 5 Faculty Lane, the space is used by members of the community for meetings, events, and a resource library. 

CoGA (Coalition for Gender Awareness)

Supports and affirms the various gender identities existing within the Mount Holyoke community through the cultivation of a safe space, educational outreach, advocacy, and visibility.


A confidential support network that serves self-identified LGBTQ people of color in the 5-college community. FAMILIA aims to increase the visibility of LGBTQQ people of color in the 5-colleges and to increase awareness in the 5-college community about issues affecting LGBTQQ people of color by creating a space for open dialogue.

Stonewall provides information and referral services, educational and cultural programming, a Speakers Bureau, a weekly events listserv, a free lending library, support for individuals who experience harassment and discrimination, and advocacy for LGBT people at UMass Amherst. Volunteer opportunities are available.

UMass Pride Alliance

The undergraduate LGBTQIA and allies student group at UMass Amherst, the Pride Alliance sponsors regular social events, including QueerFest each spring. The group meets every week, often in the Stonewall Center, during the school year. Look for them on Facebook and Tumblr.

The Center for Women and Community provides free, confidential crisis services, counseling and support groups for victims of sexual and relationship violence for people of all gender identities and expressions. The services offered through the center are available not only to our campus community but also to those from the Five Colleges, area residents and teens.
