Deacon Tom was ordained in June of 2015.  Growing up in eastern Massachusetts he graduated from Boston College with degrees in Classics and Philosophy.  He received a Masters of Public Administration from Baruch College in New York and a Masters of Applied Theology from Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee.  He served in the US Army Military Police Corps with the rank of major before spending 35 years in healthcare security and emergency management.  He retired after 21 years as the Director of Security at Baystate Health in Springfield.  Since ordination he has been the Deacon on staff at the Newman Catholic Center at UMass, Amherst.

Deacon Tom and his wife Linda have two grown children and three grandchildren.  Linda is a registered nurse who has spent thirty years as a counselor, teacher and nurse in the substance abuse field.  She retired after 20 years as a director and nurse manager of a methadone treatment program in Springfield.  

Deacon Tom has a passion for aiding others in achieving a deeply personal experience of Jesus Christ and discovering the joy that comes from experiencing God’s mercy and love.
