Support and Emergency Services

Center for Women and Community

The Center for Women and Community, located at UMass, provides support to students in the Five College area, as well as members of the Valley. Their resources include general counseling, community education, and crisis services. The center is also home to the Women of Color Leadership Network, which provides advocacy, mentoring, programming, training and a home for women and nonbinary people of color as well as workshops and events for the general public. The Center for Women and Community also has a free and confidential rape crisis services program for survivors of all gender identities in the Hampshire County and Five College Community.

Health

UMass Amherst University Health Services, located at UMass Amherst, is also available to Amherst College students. This resource is particularly useful outside of Keefe Health Center operating hours. For a full list of services provided check out the website. 

TransHealth Northampton is a trans-led organization that supports trans, non-binary, and gender-expansive individuals with care from a compassionate team of providers, including pediatric and adult primary care, mental healthcare, and gender-affirming hormonal care.

Tapestry Health is a community health resource with various locations in the Valley. Tapestry’s services include family planning resources, reproductive health exams, STI screens, HIV counseling and testing, and much more to communities regardless of race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or income. 

Planned Parenthood of Springfield offers sexual health, birth control, and abortion services to all, regardless of insurance converage status. Please visit the website for more information on the resources provided at Planned Parenthood.
