Five Colleges Queer Gender & Sexuality Conference

The Queer Conference is student-led, and aims to offer an accountable and supportive environment to further explore a wide range of topics and their intersections, such as race, genders, sexualities, ability, class, kink, survival strategies, and many more, in a specifically queer context. The Queer Conference strives to provide a safer space for engaging, learning, and fostering community with a wide range of workshops, panels, performances, and lectures by student leaders, Five College faculty and staff, off-campus educators, and nationally-known performers and speakers.

Creating Change

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force's Creating Change is the largest LGBTQIAP conference in the country, attracting more than 3,500 people  every year. Amherst College sent 11 students to the 2014 conference in Houston, Texas and plans to maintain a student presence at the 2015 conference in Denver, Colorado. Presenters and participants come from all walks of life and include members of the business community, elected officials, students, faith leaders and staff and volunteers of non-profit organizations. The five-day program features over 350 workshops and training sessions, four plenary sessions, networking opportunities, and more!
