Position Title: Academic Programs and Grants Database Assistant

Status: Work-study, non-exempt, no benefits, average 10 hours/week for academic year, divided approximately 60%/40% between the two offices

Pay Rate: $11/hour

Supervisors: Academic Programs Liaison (primary) and Director of Development

General Statement of Duties:

Provide support to the Academic Programs Liaison and the Director of Development as directed.  This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain skills in project management and database management in a friendly and supportive environment. Duties may include: researching, organizing and presenting information from archival, web or other sources; photocopying, archiving and/or filing documents; assisting with organizing events; inputting and extracting information from an existing database in Microsoft Access; assisting with the design and development of a new database.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with office software, including word processing and spreadsheet programs. (No prior experience with Microsoft Access is required, but an interest and ability to learn the software is needed.)
  • Familiarity with navigating websites and filling out online forms
  • Ability to work independently and complete projects efficiently
  • Good organizational skills
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Eligible for work-study assistance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework in computer science, database design or data management
