The Frost library relies heavily on the generosity of donors, and it boasts a strong record of giving from benefactors, including friends and alumni of Amherst College. In addition to outright gifts of cash and marketable securities, the Frost Library welcomes gift of materials such as Papers and Manuscripts. There are many ways to make a gift of materials that will meet your current and future financial as well as personal goals. Some of the ways to make a gift of include:
- An outright gift which allows you to receive a charitable deduction for tax purposes.
- A gift through bequest not only allows you to keep your materials for the remainder of your life but ensures it will have a proper home when you no longer are able to care for it. A testamentary intention also lessens the potential burden of estate taxes on your heirs.
Materials for the General Collection, and Special Collections and Archives
Library staff works closely with donors to identify materials that have long-term research value, are worthy of preservation, and fall within the scope of the Frost's Collection Development Policy.
