Valid for Moodle 2.8.  Updated on 7/22/2015.

A resource is content that the student is expected to read, look at, listen to or watch.  By default, if a course is open to guests then guests have access to resources.  This access can be restricted on an item by item basis.

How do I...

On all the pages used to create new resources, the Name field at the top is what will appear on your Moodle course page to refer to that file.

The Description field generally does not have to have any content. Usually the description will not show up on the course page unless the appropriate option is checked. The description will also show up on some of the resource displays such as the display for the page resource.

Each resource has a variety of optional settings. Most are fairly obvious or are explained with the help icon. Generally, you can accept the default settings. A page on common resource options explains the options in more detail.

At the bottom of every new resource page, you must click either Save and Return to Course or Save and Display to save your new resource.
