Global Education Study Abroad
Study abroad provides students an opportunity to spend a semester or full year on an academic program in another country. Amherst currently approves approximately 160 programs in over 50 countries.
Global experiences provide new perspectives and a framework for how we engage with the world. Whether you’re a student or faculty member, we offer resources and advising on global learning opportunities associated with the college and our partners. Our office helps prepare Amherst College students for their semester or year away, and works with them upon their return to better integrate their experiences into curricular and co-curricular life at the College.
We encourage students to engage in deep reflection about their experiences in order to deepen awareness of global issues. We also work to develop an efficient and customizable process to guide students in research and decision-making as they select a program.
