Martin Garnar named Director of the Library
Martin Garnar has been named director of the library at Amherst College, it was announced by Catherine Epstein, Provost and Dean of the Faculty. He joins the College from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where he was dean of the Kraemer Family Library and a faculty member. Garnar will assume the position on August 1, 2020.

In-person early voting? YES! Early voting is a thing! You can vote before Election Day in most states. In Massachusetts, early voting begins Saturday, October 17th.

Digital Scholarship Summer Fellowship
Not sure what digital scholarship is, but intrigued by the term? Want to learn about methods for digital scholarship and develop hands-on skills? Interested in developing a digital exhibition, geographical interface to historical information, data visualization, or textual analysis? Do you want to work with cool archival documents? Apply for a Frost Library Digital Scholarship Summer Fellowship! We welcome a range of applicants—no prior technical or digital scholarship experience necessary.

Fall Zotero Workshops
Zotero [zoh-TAIR-oh] is a free application that collects, manages, and formats citations and bibliographies. Zotero also helps organize your research by allowing you to attach PDFs, notes, and images to your references. You can arrange your sources into collections for different projects and tag them for easy searching.

Student focus group: doing research on mobile
EBSCO is working to create a mobile app for student research. We are looking for user feedback and we'd love to hear from students!
On Wed. April 17th, EBSCO will be on campus at Frost Library from 11 am - 1 pm. We are looking for students to participate in a 1.5 hours in-person focus group. You will receive a $150 Amazon Gift Card for your time and participation.
