The Convocation Ceremony

image

When President Kennedy came to Amherst on
October 26, 1963, it was a major media event. An
entire room was set aside just for media personnel.
This photograph shows cameras and other media
equipment set up on scaffolding in the Cage to record
the Convocation honoring the President, which took
place before the groundbreaking ceremonies.
