Trade edition, sixth printing (with “Sixth printing, December, 1936” on verso of title leaf).  Copies are known with two variant dust jackets: one with the publisher’s address “One Park Avenue” and prices given for the titles listed; the other with the address “257 Fourth Avenue” and no prices.  Holt moved from 1 Park Avenue during 1936.  Since copies with both jackets came from Holt’s unsold stock in 1990, it seems that both variants were issued on copies of this printing.   6 copies.
* Copy 1 has the bookplate of Jack W. C. Hagstrom (Class of 1955); in an unpriced dust jacket.  Gift of Jack W. C. Hagstrom.
* Copy 2 is from the library of Newton F. McKeon (Class of 1926), with a priced dust jacket (defective; removed and placed in file with call number: File RFA 30 1930f c.3 dj).  Gift of Mary Maury McKeon.
* Copies 3-6 are unsold copies that were still in the publisher’s stock in 1990; the dust jackets on copies 3-4 are unpriced; on copies 5-6 they are priced.  Curiously, copy 6 is signed by Frost, dated St. Louis, 1937, on the front free endpaper (the other copy from the stock with this dust jacket was not signed).  Gift of Henry Holt and Co.
