Funding an Event

Below are resources for funding offered through the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership for your Registered Student Organization (RSO) or independently planned event. Please note that these resources are supplementary to primary sourcing of funding (Club Budgets or Discretionary Fund) for all events/initiatives by the student body through the Association of Amherst Students Budgetary Committee.

Completing an application for any of the resources below does not guarantee support. Each of these funding sources allocates funding on a first-come, first-serve basis and reserves the right to limit assistance to organizations based on the availability of funds.

Requests for co-sponsorship submitted two weeks or more in advance of the event will receive preferential consideration for approval. Submissions within two weeks are subject to approval based on the viability of event execution. Please allow between 5-10 business days to review your request. Upon review, you will receive a notification via The Hub indicating the amount approved.

If you have questions about how to plan a budget for an event or how to navigate funding requests, you can meet with a staff member in the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership to review your event ideas and develop a budget proposal. Please email sel@amherst.edu to set up a time to connect.

Student Engagement and Leadership Co-Sponsorship Fund

  • Events sponsored by RSOs must seek funds from the Budgetary Committee/AAS prior to submitting the application.
