Seaver is presented with the Medal of Eminent Service by President Anthony W. Marx.

Medal for Eminent Service

The 2010 Medal for Eminent Service was presented to Christine Noyer Seaver, the current President of the Amherst College Class of 1981 and Co- Chair, with Leo P. Arnaboldi III ’81, of the College’s Annual Fund.

Seaver served in Amherst’s last campaign as a Special Gifts volunteer. She has given her time to the Society of the Alumni, as a member of both the Executive Committee and the Nominating Committee, and has also worked as an Admission Advisor. She has demonstrated particular dedi- cation to her class, serving as Class Secretary, working as an Alumni Fund Associate Agent and then stepping up to serve on her class’s 25th Reunion lead gift committee in 2006. With her leadership, the Class of 1981 raised $6.2 million for their 25th Reunion, with 82.1 percent of the class contributing—a level of participation that had not been reached by a 25th Reunion class in several decades. Seaver is also an Amherst parent: her son Jack is a member of the Class of 2011, and her daughter Maggie is a member of the Class of 2014.

While at Amherst, Seaver played field hockey, lacrosse, squash and tennis, and she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in economics. In the intervening years, she has been active in many local charities and community organizations. She currently works as a freelance writer.
