Jim Kennedy ’75, Vice President and Director of Strategic Planning for The Associated Press, leads strategic planning across all divisions of the world’s largest news organization, including services for print, broadcast and new media. He began his second stint with The Associated Press in 2001, after two years as executive director of product planning for The Wall Street Journal Online, also known as WSJ.com. Before moving to the Journal, he spent 13 years at AP, first as business news editor and later as the founding director of the news agency’s multimedia department. At Amherst he majored in American Studies. He lives with his wife, Cindy, and two daughters in Pleasantville, N.Y.
