Word has been received that Donald Jay Singer passed away on Feb. 27, 2011.
He was born in New York City on June 28, 1929, the son of Louis J. and Mimi Singer. Prior to joining our class, he attended the Horace Mann Boys School in New York City.
After graduating, he spent 18 years at Lehman Brothers and was the owner of D. J. Singer and Co. Inc. His other activities included directorships of the Lionel Corp., the Tower Acceptance Co. and Consumers Auto Vending Co. He was also a member of the American Stock Exchange.
In 1952, he married Joan-Doan Miller (Mount Holyoke). They had four children, Gary, Gayle, Gwen and Gregg.
