Rubén Bórnez Fernández

¡Hola! My name is Rubén Bórnez Fernández and I am one of the new Spanish FLTAs at Amherst College. I am 28 and I come from a small town in Spain south of Madrid called ‘Villarrubia de los Ojos’.

At university, I studied an English Studies and Literature Bachelor’s Degree as well as a Master’s Degree in Teaching English to students of other languages. At the moment, I am close to finishing another Master’s Degree, this time in Teaching Spanish. I have always been passionate about teaching and languages. Teaching Spanish abroad is what I enjoy most and I have had some incredible experiences teaching our language in places like Egypt, Australia, Ireland, England, and Romania.

Sports, traveling and learning about new cultures are some of my hobbies. I am really excited to be part of one of the most prestigious colleges in the USA and I cannot wait for this adventure to begin.

Gabriel Cisneros Enriquez

¡Hola! My name is Gabriel and I've lived my whole 27-year life in a small town in Mexico called Apizaco.

I graduated as a Language Teacher in 2018 at the Autonomous University of Tlaxcala. Nowadays, I'm an English teacher (and from time to time some other subjects like communication) at the National Polytechnic Institute, one of the most prestigious Mexican universities.

Besides Spanish and English, I also speak French and a little bit of Italian. In my free time, I love to play video games, watch movies or some soccer games and also I practice archery.

I'm very excited to go to Amherst and share my language, my culture and my experiences with you all. Can't wait to meet you!
