Solutions to Previous Comprehensive Exams in Mathematics
The Department (with the help of some students) writes solutions to some comps exams, some of which are posted here.
Comps Exam takers (seniors) need only consult old "Core" exams, which cover Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra. Honors Qual Exam takers (juniors) should consult both old Core exams and old "Subject" exams in their choice of Algebra or Analysis.
In the strongest possible terms, we urge you not to start with these solutions, but instead download download the previous exams first, do the problems yourself, and then consult these solutions to check your answers. If you just download the solutions and read them without doing the problems first, it becomes a passive exercise that will not prepare you for the comps or quals.
