How do I access the Amherst Network?
If you have previously registered on the eduroam wireless network at your home institution, you can connect and login to the college's eduroam wireless network using your home institution email address and password. You don't need to take any further action.
If you are not an eduroam user you must connect to the AmherstGuest WiFi network. Then, when you launch your web browser, you'll see the Amherst network portal page. Follow the Visitors link, where you'll find two other links--one to create an Amherst networking account and one to login with your previously-created Amherst networking account. Click the link that applies to you and follow the directions.
Are there any requirements for accessing the AmherstGuest network?
You will need a valid email address in order to create an Amherst network guest account. The email address you enter will be your username on the Amherst network. You will receive a password via email to the email address you used.
Will I have to login every time I want to use the Amherst network?
Guest registration is valid for 7 days. After a week, you will need to register again. Special arrangements can be made for guests who will be at Amherst for extended periods by contacting the Help Desk.
