"If you were to put Amherst into one sentence is that’s we are taught to think critically, and that’s the most important thing, don’t you think Brad? It’s something we talk about all the time. [Brad] Yes, learning to think critically, to be open and curious. [Harlan] And Jake Fisher – who I named my fictional professor -  that’s the philosophy I really wanted to give this character in terms of his teaching."

Brad Bradbeer '84, Interviewer

Brad Bradbeer ‘84 has served as the president of Lilly Pulitzer for the last 20 years. After graduating from Amherst where he majored in psychology and played on the golf team, he attended Harvard Business School. He and his wife, Carol, have four boys, ages 10 to 17. He and Harlan have been good friends since their freshman year at Amherst. Brad is the inspiration for Harlan’s character, Win (not in Six Years).
