Native & Indigenous Students Organization Five College Native American Indian Studies

The Five College Consortium (consisting of Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mt. Holyoke College, Smith College, and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst) offers several certificates in ethnic studies. Certificate programs, which are like enhanced minors, require no capstone project. They can encourage students to take courses away from their home campus and are highly recommended as a way to burst the "Amherst bubble."
