Besides serving on the usual several boards and belonging to the usual civic and charitable organizations, I was for 25 years Treasurer of our states publicity arm, the Maine Publicity Bureau. But more important was my membership for 25 years in the Cape Elizabeth Fire Dept.
Twelve years ago, with all four kids educated etc., I retired best thing I ever did. We've never been happier.
We've lived in the same house (of course enlarged, pooled, and beautified) since 1950, but now spend our winters in the Caribbean, springs in South Carolina, and take a yearly trip to some other exotic place.
Hobbies--trout fishing all over the world, golf (7 handicap!), duck hunting, and working around the place.
My fondest scholastically memory of Amherst is freshman English with Armour Craig--marvelous!
Amherst was a magnificent experience; with so many great fellows but best of all it was there that I met my dear wife.
Good luck and good health to each and every one of you.
