3 p.m.  Moderator George W. Carmany, III, '62 is an investor in health care in Boston, the former chairman of the Tufts Medical Center and a member of the Advisory Committee on Education at the Harvard Medical School.

3:10 p.m. Gerald Fink '62, professor of genetics at MIT, is a founding member of the Whitehead Institute and its former director.

3:30 p.m. Robert Sauer '69 will give a talk titled "When a Plan Fails." Dr. Sauer is the Salvador E. Luria Professor of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and former chairman of the Biology Department at MIT.

4:05 p.m. Carolyn Sufrin '97, will talk about "Incarcerated Women and Reproductive Health: Opportunities and Challenges for a Vulnerable Population." Sufrin is an ob/gyn and an anthropologist at the University of California, San Francisco and will discuss her experiences as a caregiver, interdisciplinary researcher, and advocate for women in prison in jail addressing this population's unique circumstances,

4:40 p.m. Peter Millard '76. "Prevention of HIV in Africa: How Science Works." Currently a family physician, epidemiologist and professor at the University of New England, Millard has spent half of his career living and working in Zimbabwe and most recently Mozambique, specializing in primary care in global health, the care of patients with HIV/AIDS and teaching medical students in Africa. Note: This presentation includes graphic images of male circumcision.

5:15 p.m. Tyler Jacks will talk on "Cancer Genetics and Cancer Therapy." Jacks is a professor of biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an HHMI investigator and director of the David Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research. He will talk about his work at MIT.

5:40 to 6:10 p.m. Panel discussion.

6:15 p.m. Reception, Lewis Sebring Dining Commons.

6:45 p.m. Dinner, Lewis Sebring Dining Commons. Featured speaker will be Ginger Graham. Graham is the president and CEO of Two Trees Consulting and former CEO of Amylin Pharmaceuticals, a leading provider of therapies for the treatment of diabetes; Group Chairman of Guidant Corporation; Division President at Eli Lilly; and former faculty member at Harvard Business School.
