Reserving Other Spaces on Campus

Amherst College offers a variety of event venues. The information listed below will help you identify who to contact to reserve a space. Some locations can be found online via the Office of Communications.

Note: You must receive a reservation confirmation to access a space. A room/space reservation confirmation does not equate to registering an event or party with the Office of Student Life. 

Keefe Campus Center and the O’Connor Commons

To reserve most spaces in the Campus Center or the O’Connor Commons, faculty may make an online request through Virtual EMS. All parties and events must be registered through The Amherst College Hub.

Residence Halls

To reserve space in a residence hall, contact reslife. Your request will be forwarded to the appropriate Resident Counselor and Area Coordinator. The only exception is O’Connor Commons which can be reserved through Virtual EMS

Outdoors: Main Quads and Residence Hall Lawns

To reserve these spaces, contact the Custodial Services Special Services Supervisor, Liz Pereira (epereira@amherst.edu, ext. 2367)

Athletics Facilities

To reserve the Alumni Gym, Lefrak Gym, or the Cage spaces, contact the Director of Facilities, Gregg DiNardo (gdinardo@amherst.edu, ext. 5630, Alumni Gym 1201). You must make requests very far in advance since these facilities are in typically constant use by the various athletic teams.

Academic Buildings

Reservation requests from 4 pm-8 am Monday-Friday or any time on the weekends, contact Paula Mieczkowski in CASE (pamieczkowski@amherst.edu).

Religion-Affiliated Spaces

To reserve these spaces, contact Religion Department Coordinator, Laurie Canter (Chapin Chapel and Lounge now on Virtual EMS) (lcanter@amherst.edu, ext. 2181).

Valentine Dining Hall & Lewis-Sebring

To reserve any of the Terrace or Conference rooms in Valentine or to table in the entryway of Val, contact Dining Services (valentine@amherst.edu).
