Thesis Student 
Mary is a senior from Dallas, Texas, majoring in psychology and anthropology. Mary would like to purse a career in clinical psychology working with children. Outside of the lab, Mary is on the women's lacrosse team and enjoys coaching youth sports. In her spare time, she loves to pet dogs, go for walks outside, and bake!

Thesis Student
Eren is a senior from New York City. She is majoring in psychology and is on the Pre-Med Track. Eren hopes to work with children in the medical field in the future. Outside of the lab, Eren has written many articles for The Amherst Student and is a member of the Women's Ultimate Frisbee Team. She also enjoys reading, going for long walks, and spending time with friends and family!

Justin Ruiz
Thesis Student
Justin is a senior from Lihue, Hawaii majoring in psychology and education studies. Justin is planning to attend graduate school and pursue a PhD in psychology with the hopes of going into academia. Outside of the lab, Justin is an active member of the Asian Students Association and dances as a member of DASAC. He also enjoys baking, listening to music, and traveling with his friends and family!

Vaughn Armour
Research Assistant
Vaughn is a junior from Columbus, Ohio. He is a pre-med psychology major who intends to work as a child and adolescent psychiatrist in the future. Outside of academics, Vaughn leads 3D (Difference for the Developmentally Disabled), writes for the Amherst Student, and plays for the Amherst College Ultimate Frisbee team.

Emma is a sophomore from Maplewood, New Jersey planning to major in psychology and potentially English. She hopes to pursue a career that will allow her to continue exploring developmental psychology and work with children in a clinical setting. Outside of the lab, Emma is an editor for The Amherst Student and tutors individuals who have immigrated and are learning English. In her free time, Emma loves reading classic literature, trail running, and listening to classic rock!

Yareli Calderon
Research Assistant
Yareli is a junior from New Haven, Connecticut, majoring in psychology. Although she is unsure of her career path, she is interested in art therapy, counseling, clinical psychology, and working with children. Outside of the lab, Yareli is part of the Amherst Christian Fellowship leadership team and is an active member of the Latinx affinity group La Causa. She enjoys journaling, painting, playing squash, and spending time outdoors.

Ada is a junior from New York City majoring in psychology. She plans on attending medical school after graduation and is interested in pursuing pediatrics. Outside of the lab, Ada looks forward to volunteering at Cooley Dickinson and serving as an EMT for the campus. She also enjoys distance running and going to farmers markets!

Jackeline Fernandes
Research Assistant
Jackeline is a senior from Port Washington, New York, majoring in psychology and English. While still unsure about her career path, she is particularly interested in developmental psychology and hopes to work with children in the future. Outside of the lab, Jackeline is an editor and staff writer for The Indicator Literary Magazine and a WAMH radio host. She also enjoys working as a college tour guide, and you can often spot her reading a book in an Adirondack chair or biking around campus!

Madison is a senior from South Orange, New Jersey. She is currently a psychology major on the Pre-Med Track. She plans to pursue a career in the clinical psychology field working with children. Outside of the lab, Madison is an E-board member of the Black Student Union and a proud tennis player and fencer. In her spare time, she enjoys doing the New York Times crossword, reading, and watching historical documentaries about monarchs.

Lauren Yuen
Research Assistant 
Lauren is a junior from southern California majoring in psychology. She plans on attending medical school upon graduation and hopefully pursuing psychiatry or pediatrics. Outside of the lab, Lauren is a board member of the Transfer Student Association and a Med-12 on ACEMS. She enjoys volunteering at the local soup kitchen, painting (especially cats!), biking around campus, and making smoothie bowls with Val ingredients.
