In October of 1993, Charlton Copeland ’96 and Tracie Yorke ’96 requested the assistance of the Affirmative Action Officer in developing and supporting a worship service with traditional aspects of the African-American style of worship.  After the Bi-Semester Christian Worship Series was established, students felt the need to launch a Gospel Choir on campus.

Amherst College Gospel Choir sings during the Bi-Semester Christian Worship Series as well as during other worship services, ministering encouragement, support, and love to the Amherst community through various on-campus events every semester. We invite people from all walks of life and skill levels to join.

Contact Constance Holden (cholden15@amherst.edu)  or Whitney Beber  (wbeber16@amherst.edu)  for more information. Rehearsals are Tuesdays 7-8:00pm and Thursdays 7-8:00pm in Chapin Chapel. All skill levels are welcome!
